Evidence Based Therapy

The therapists at PVD Psychological Associates have extensive training and experience in a variety of evidence based therapy. We will work with you to develop an understanding of what brought you to therapy and collaboratively develop a treatment plan. Your therapist will continue to maintain an open dialogue with you about what is working in therapy and how it can better address your goals.

The “neuro” component of neuropsychological testing refers to the evaluation of neurological domains such as executive function, learning, and memory. The “psychological” component refers to testing oriented around clinical psychology such as the assessment of behavior, social skills, mood and anxiety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan to help individuals who have difficulty managing their emotions, handling “crisis situations” of peak distress without engaging in impulsive and self-destructive behaviors, and navigating relationships effectively.

PVD Psychological Associates is a recognized BCBSRI LGBTQ Safe Zone. The therapists at PVD Psychological Associates have expertise working with LGBTQIA+ identified individuals and their families. We offer LGBTQIA+ Affirming and Gender Affirming Therapy .

Our location in College Hill puts us right in the middle of many high schools and universities.
